As the release of The White Lotus season 3 approaches, fans are left wondering what to expect with the newest installment in the hit series. With season 2 completing its dramatic end in December of 2022, many of us have been left wondering what the newest season will offer, especially considering our beloved character and face of the show, Tanya, will not be returning for season 3. Not to worry however, because creator and writer of the show, Mike White, has teased us fans with statements indicating that this season will be, “supersized . . . With no definitive release date set quite yet, The White Lotus season 3 is expected to release at some point in the first-half of 2025. Filming began in Thailand earlier this year in February, and has since wrapped. That being said, the show should be heading towards the final stages of production with editing becoming the main barrier between now and the show’s expected release time early next year. Due to the 2023 writers strike delaying the overall production of the newest season, the later release date has only heightened the anticipation among fans for the newest White Lotus story.
What we do know is the new A-list cast and location that will be the forefront of The White Lotus season 3. Joined by well known actors such as: Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Leslie Bibb, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, and more, season 3 will introduce a new set of intertwined characters and stories that are sure to impress. And in more good news, although we can’t have Tanya in the newest season, one thing that is confirmed is the return of Natasha Rothwell, reprising her role as Belinda from season 1. So at least there is one returning character that will work to connect each of the seasons together, despite their differing casts and characters.
Filmed at the Four Seasons Koh Samui in Thailand, season 3 will continue its theme of a high-class beach getaway that is likely to entail more complexities of luxury than any of the characters bargained for. With class/wealth being the theme for season 1, lust/greed for season 2, season 3 is expected to surround motifs that are centered on religion and spirituality — and there is arguably no better place to represent such themes than in Thailand.
